Dungeon Hunter Champions is written by veteran fantasy and sci-fi author Dan Abnett. You are an Invoker, a being with godlike cosmic powers and the ability to summon powerful Champions to fight in your name.
For eons Invokers and their Champions have battled in the Eternal Contest, a magical competition that exists between the Realms of the Multiverse. However, a dark new force has appeared from beyond the Multiverse and is spreading a corruption through the Eternal Contest – twisting its magic and threatening the stability of the Mortal Realms. Rally your Champions, discover the cause of the corruption, and fight to save the Multiverse from the greatest threat it has ever known!

The Multiverse

Ancient Temple

The Temple of the Ancients lies in the remote vastness of the Ashken Desert on Valora.

The massive and monolithic temple, now partly ruined and worn away by the passage of time, was built in the very earliest part of Valoran prehistory by a forerunner race of giants known as the Ancients. This race of giant humanoids was the first of all civilizations on Valora, and gave rise to all the cultures that followed.

The temple, guarded by mysterious beings and home to great secrets of the Early Eons, is the last remnant of the Ancients’ civilization. The Ancients themselves have long since died out or vanished from the mortal plane.

The Temple stands as a towering and crumbling monument to their majesty and power in the early days of the world.

Xinkashi Skyway

Xinkashi is a distant kingdom on the world of Valora, far away from the realm of Valenthia.  It is a huge and powerful empire with ancient origins, significantly more technologically advanced than the realms of the west.

The Skyway is one of the Xinkashi’s finest and proudest technological achievements, a mighty trackway network that extends across the entire empire, serviced by extraordinary mechanical trains. Using the magnificent Skyway system, citizens can travel from one province to another, right across the empire, in a simple matter of hours. On foot or on horseback, the trek would last weeks or months.

Some visitors to the empire come simply to see the Skyway. It is a marvelous sight in its own right, a towering technological achievement, and one of the wonders of the world of Valora.

Coral Kingdom

The sunken city of Eelaan lies on the world of Nundatus. Long ago, a great civilization of men called Eelaan dominated the Nundatus, and ruled every scrap of dry land. Only the deep oceans lay outside their control. So desperate where the people of Eelaan to achieve mastery of the entire world, they deliberately sank their city into the sea in order to command that realm too.

The Eelaani used their technology and magic to transform themselves into amphibious creatures, beings who could live on land and sea alike, and dominate both.Some of the Eelaani have become so transformed they are true mutants, adopting the traits and characteristics of ocean life. The palace is magnificent but it is also a dangerous place, haunted not only by the warrior Eelaani, but also by the ferocious sea-mutants that some of them have become…along with monsters and native beings of the deep ocean who battle against Imperial Eelaani control.

Dragon Sanctuary

The so called Dragon Sanctuary lies on the borderlands of Valenthia on the world of Valora. In ancient times, the formidable dragon kind roamed far and wide across Valora, but they were hunted down by the races of men – usually because they were a dangerous threat, but more often because they were seen as a way for a hero to prove his worth.

As their numbers decreased, the dragons began to shun the common world more and more, becoming elusive and making their lairs in remote places that were inaccessible and hard to find.  They did this to protect themselves and to stay out of the way of the ruthless upstart race mankind.

The Dragon Sanctuary is hard to reach, and generally shunned as dangerous territory. The Dragon Guard statues that were built in ancient times to warn visitors that they were entering a known haunt of dragons now serve as a defense.

Scrap City

Home to the feral and dangerous Junkpile gangs of roaming, nomadic salvage hunters, the Scrap City is a vast area of wasteland on the planet Slammad, lying between the great cities of Sheerspike and Rumbletown.

This intercontinental area is littered with vast ‘trashbergs’ of debris and mechanical junk, the remnants of a more glorious mechanical past. It is an industrial wasteland, haunted by the Junkpile gangs and by packs of humanoid rats, as well as technological horrors such a rogue and malfunctioning kill-bots and other machine creatures.  It is also hideously polluted with acid, industrial waste, and radioactive debris.

The Blitz Coliseum

The Coliseum stands on the world of Slammed. It dominates the city of Rumbletown, and is the home of the infamous sport of Ultimate Blitz, a wildly popular and wildly dangerous arena sport.

Rumbletown is a sprawling city, much of which is given over to lawless slums. Like almost everything on Slammad, the city is built from scrap and mechanical spares, salvaged from the vast junk pile wastelands.

Many slum dwellers take their chances in the Coliseum, signing up to play the vicious Ultimate Blitz blood sport. For the lucky few, the ones with the talent or good fortune to become champions, it is a ticket out of the slum life, and a path to fame and riches. For most, it is a short and lethal career. But still they join up. The misery and danger of life in the Rumbletown slums is so great, anyone would exchange it for even a brief moment of glory in the spectacular arena, as the vast crowd chants your name.

Leviathan Hunt

In the depths of deep space, there are several vast interstellar tracts where great, space-going leviathans herd and graze. These great beasts are ancient and vast, and spend their long lives moving placidly between the stars, often in family groups or ‘schools’.

Various interstellar-capable races have recognized these elusive creatures as great sources of rare materials, or even food, and industrialized hunting is now widespread. Kill-Ships and hunting barques sail out from planets such as Emanaton, Slammad and even the Skand home world, braving the hazardous and near infinite wastes of deep space to hunt the Leviathan schools.

Life aboard these grim, industrial kill-ship fleets is harsh. It is a dangerous and unforgiving environment, not least when a fleet closes for a kill. The Leviathans are massive and hugely powerful, and seldom go down without a fight to the death.

A fragile Champion with strong offensive abilities, often capable of inflicting damage and devastating debuffs on may enemies at once.
